Ms. Anderson
Ms. Anderson was raised in Naperville, Illinois. This past spring, she graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Music Education. At beginning of the year, Ms. Anderson initially joined Music Education Services as a substitute teacher. She recently accepted a position to teach part time with the company and cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store. Ms. Anderson has been playing French horn since fourth grade, but is proficient on almost every band instrument. Throughout her musical career, Ms. Anderson has played in a variety of ensembles including concert band, orchestra, marching band, and jazz band.
When she is not teaching or practicing her instrument, Ms. Anderson loves to be spend time outdoors. Some of her favorite activities are horseback riding, camping, rock climbing, and traveling. Ms. Anderson listens to all types of music. Some of her favorite artists and composers are Train, Jack Johnson, The Good Lovelies, Paul Hindemith, Gustav Holst, and John Adams.
Ms. Anderson’s favorite part of teaching is witnessing the progression and growth of her students throughout the school year. Ms. Anderson really enjoys giving her students the opportunity to explore, create, and discover new talents and concepts within the world of music. Through music, Ms. Anderson strives to help her students find their passion for the arts and hopes to inspire them the same way her directors did for her.
