Mr. Dominic Colonero grew up in the Suburbs of Chicago and began playing the trombone in 5th grade. He attended Illinois State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. While at Illinois State University, he performed in the wind symphony, symphony orchestra, marching band, jazz band, trombone choir, and trombone quartet. After substitute teaching for a year, Mr. Colonero is excited to get his hands dirty during his first year at Music Education Services. His primary instrument is bass trombone, but he is proficient on almost all band instruments.
Mr. Colonero is also part of the 85th Army Reserve Band located in Arlington Heights. With the Army, he has traveled to Wisconsin, Washington, Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Washington D.C., Germany, and France.
In his spare time, Mr. Colonero likes to play tennis, read, cook, watch movies, and listen to music. A few of his favorite compositions are Pines of Rome, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4, Blue Shades, Symphony No. 1, The Lord of the Rings, and David Maslanka’s Symphony No. 4. With Mr. Colonero’s passion for music, he plans on creating an exciting educational experience for his students.
