He has enjoyed playing in many ensembles, including concert bands, marching bands, brass quintets, and one of his favorites, jazz big bands.
In his spare time, Mr. Anderson loves listening to all types of music, but he especially loves Classical, Jazz, and Rock. Some of his favorite composers and artists are J. S. Bach, Gabrielli, Beethoven, Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangione, Pink Floyd, and Dream Theatre. In his free time, Mr. Anderson loves to watch and talk about movies, go to museums, and spend time with his friends and loved ones.
Mr. Anderson’s favorite part of teaching is seeing the happiness and achievement on the faces of his students when they play an instrument or master a concept for the first time. Mr. Anderson believes that music is a universal language that is prevalent in all aspects of life. He especially loves the role music has played in history and how it has progressed as civilization has. Mr. Anderson believes through music, a student can be taught lessons and life-skills that apply to his overall development. Mr. Anderson’s ultimate goal is to inspire his students in the same way his previous band directors inspired him.
